Scholarship Winners

Introducing our 2023 Scholarship Winners

Argent Credit Union is committed to helping make a college education a reality.  This year, Argent is pleased to award a total of $7,500 in scholarships to three high school seniors.  Each recipient has been awarded a scholarship in the amount of $2,500 to help with their continuing education.

The Ruby A. Robinson Scholarship was created in 1992 to commemorate Ruby’s many years of dedicated service to the Credit Union and its membership.  This year’s winners are: Holly Willis and Nithyasri Gopal.

The Rose E. Baggerly Rising Leaders Scholarship was created to honor her many years of dedicated leadership and contributions to Argent Credit Union and the credit union movement. The winner of this award is Juan Gonzalez.

Holly Willis

Holly is a Senior at Thomas Dale High School in Chester, VA.  She will be attending Longwood University, where she intends to pursue a Master’s Degree in Education.

Nithyasri Gopal

Nithyasri Gopal

Nithyasri attends Clover Hill High School in Midlothian, VA.  She has been accepted to the University of Virginia for her undergraduate studies and will pursue a career in engineering.

Juan Gonzalez

Juan Gonzalez

Juan attends Tunstall High School in Dry Fork, VA.  He plans to attend
Virginia Tech and enroll in the Pamplin School of Business where he will major in Finance and minor in Accounting.

Juan was presented the Rose E. Baggerly Scholarship by Rose and her husband, Jim Baggerly, at the Tunstall High School Awards Ceremony.
